From a technical point of view, the driver identification solution is based on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology with ELA Innovation’s Blue LITE ID beacons capable of being detected by Teltonika GPS trackers. To achieve this integration, these devices are seamlessly combined. Initial installation involves placing the Teltonika device on the car’s fuse box, powering it directly from the vehicle’s battery within an operating range of between 6 and 30V. Next, the car’s ignition is connected to a power relay, and this relay is interconnected with the Teltonika device. After installation, the system is programmed by Alfakom. Their Fleet Management IoT platform configures the device to automatically switch the relay powering the ignition cable when it detects the presence of Blue LITE ID nearby. This programming guarantees a transparent and responsive driver identification process. In scenarios involving shared company vehicles, the implemented security measures ensure that only authorized individuals can access the vehicle. Additionally, to prevent theft, the system requires the presence of a specific identification, without which engine startup is restricted.
