Automatic inventory of construction assets on multi-site projects
For a leading European construction company, Rosenberger Telematics has developed a robust, scalable solution to optimize the management of over 200,000 pieces of equipment spread over several hundred worksites. By integrating ELA Innovation’s Bluetooth beacons into its IoT ecosystem, Rosenberger enables this construction giant to accurately locate and manage a highly heterogeneous fleet of motorized and non-motorized equipment, often used in extreme conditions.
The diversity of the assets, their geographical dispersion and the lack of traceability generated losses, oversights and delays. Using GPS- and cable-free technology, Rosenberger Telematics and ELA Innovation deployed a solution that geolocates equipment, tracks compliance and controls inventory, all via a single management platform, with the aim of streamlining logistics operations and improving operational performance.

Technical Operation
Each asset is equipped with an ELA Innovation Bluetooth beacon.
Telematics units – installed on vehicles or at strategic points – and the BEACON application act as Bluetooth gateways. They detect the proximity of the beacons and automatically transmit their presence via 5G/4G/2G to the COMMANDER software. This enables precise tracking without the need to install a GPS on each asset.
Motorized equipment is connected directly via telematic devices. All data is centralized in the COMMANDER platform, which is used by one of Europe’s largest construction groups to track, plan and maintain its equipment.
